Jennifer this is such a moving piece. I feel everything you say — not because my kid has special needs, but because I am a mother. And as a mother, I think it is essential that we learn acceptance and teach it to our children, so that they can be empowered to be the best version of themselves. You have given the most precious tool in life to your son: confidence. That sounds like pretty awesome parenting to me. Is there a label for that? #badass
